This is the schedule. Here are some FAQs

1.       Does my daughter have to attend all the sessions for her group?

Yes, your daughter will be tired but will be happy to attend each session. There is so much to learn about volleyball and it takes some time. Players need to be at every session.

2.       What paperwork does my daughter need have turned in so that she can participate?

A physical and parental consent form must be turned in to the school prior to her participation. If your daughter does not have the proper paperwork turned in she will not be allowed to participate until this paperwork is turned in, NO EXCEPTIONS. She should attend all sessions even if her paperwork is not turned in.

3.       When are tryouts over? When will final cuts be made?

We try to keep as many players as we possibly can. However, we are limited to a maximum of 12 for each team. There are occasional exceptions. We do not have Juniors playing JV so the JV team is comprised of 9th and 10th graders. We have had many 9th and 10th graders who have played Varsity. These selections are made on a person by person basis and are based on team needs and athletic ability, coachability and skill. Tryouts this year are during the first 4 sessions with final cuts occurring after session 5 or 6.

4.       What do I need to bring to tryouts?

All athletes should be dressed appropriately for athletic competition. She should be wearing appropriate sneakers, kneepads (not on testing day) and a t-shirt and shorts. Tank tops nor v-neck t-shirts  are not tolerated during practice. A sports bra is not required but is highly encouraged. Bring a change of clothing, towel and water bottle (or two) to every session.

5.       What happens on ‘athletic testing day’?

Athletes trying out will be running a timed mile. The completion of an 8:15 mile for a JV uniform and 7:30 mile for a Varsity uniform is expected. Those who do not make that mile time will be given multiple opportunities to run the mile at a time that does not interfere with tryout sessions. An athlete CAN make the team without completing the mile in the required time, however, they will not earn a uniform without making the mile in the required time.

For Good Counsel, "2 Outta 3 Ain't Bad"

champtrophy As Meat loaf once said "2 Outta 3 Ain't Bad" and in this case it is Championships. The Falcons had another great season this year, extending their win streak to 76 in the WCAC, Winning the WCAC Championship for the 4th straight season and Finishing 2nd in the City Championships. Most coaches, players and fans would say that is great and start preparing for next season, not the Falcons as they continued their quest for their 4th MD/DC Private School Championship.
