Coach's Corner

The Falcons traveled to New Jersey this past weekend and played well. Although the squad did not take home the trophy this year, they did play with passion and landed in 7th place overall. I am very proud with the leadership that was displayed in New Jersey.

The tournament started with the Falcons' ending pool play with a record of 6-2 losing to Nationally ranked Eden HS of NY. After losing to Eden in pool play the team had to turn around and play them again in the playoff bracket. The final outcome was the same as Eden took both games, however, the overall play of the team was much improved. After losing in pool play 25-10, 25-8 the Falcons' mounted a comeback and ended up losing to Eden with scores of 25-21 and 25-20. The improvement was lead by the senior leadership of Jenna Campbell, 9 kills and 8 digs in the second match.

At the Junior Varsity level the younger squad continues to soar. They have followed the lead of the Varsity program and have not lost a match to a WCAC opponent this season and have an overall record of 17-1. The leadership of new coaches Kanasha Trent and Tara Vaglica ('03) has molded these young women into a group of volleyball players to be reckoned with.
